Paramedic – Advanced Life Support (ALS)

About the role

Provide immediate, high-quality pre-hospital and in-hospital emergency care to patients, following established medical protocols. The role demands quick decision-making and skilled clinical intervention in dynamic, high-pressure environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care, addressing physical, medical, and cultural needs while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to EMS protocols.
• Operate and maintain EMS vehicles and equipment to ensure reliability and prevent damage.
• Stay updated with EMS trends and healthcare developments to respond effectively to patient needs.
• Complete administrative tasks efficiently, ensuring EMS vehicles are deployment-ready.
• Participate in EMS staff meetings to discuss operational updates and care protocols.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, including skills maintenance, educational awareness, and research.
• Anticipate potential problems and respond appropriately.
• Strive to improve patient care and the working environment through feedback and problem-solving.
• Adhere strictly to privilege list authority and approved medical protocols.
• Utilize medical supplies efficiently to prevent wastage.
• Collaborate with other staff members to foster teamwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the job.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as an Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedic.
• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Services or a higher related degree.
• Excellent oral and written command of English and Arabic.
• Valid Light Transportation Driving License and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) registration.
• STEP English Test score of 65% or higher, or IELTS 5.0 or above.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification.
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Safety (EVOS) certification.
