Port Operations Officer – Dammam

About the role

CMA CGM is expanding its operations in Saudi Arabia and seeks a proactive Port Operations Officer to manage vessel arrivals and departures in Dammam. You will act as the main liaison between the ship, port authorities, and internal teams to ensure smooth, compliant cargo handling.

Key responsibilities

• Attend vessels at port and guarantee full compliance with statutory formalities and declarations.
• Facilitate paperwork, customs, quarantine, and immigration approvals for ship arrivals and departures.
• Obtain special assistance approvals from Port Authorities, such as immobilisation for the main engine.
• Coordinate with the Stevedore Planning team to monitor cargo operations.
• Submit special cargo documents (Dangerous Goods, Reefer, OOG) to the Operations team.
• Arrange ship‑chandler deliveries, medical assistance for sick crew, and immigration formalities for crew sign‑on/off.
• Secure customs approval for loading/unloading seals, equipment, spares, and BL‑blank form goods.
• Check Reefer reports and organise technician support for container repairs.
• Obtain completion certificates from stevedores and upload required ship certificates and health declarations to Fasah.
• Coordinate port clearance with the Harbor Master and submit clearance to vessel command and Coast Guard.
• Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports for the Operations Manager.

Required profile

• University degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 2‑5 years of experience in the shipping line industry.
• Fluent English with strong attention to detail.
• Highly organized, able to multitask in a fast‑paced, pressure‑filled environment.
• Good analytical, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
