Port Operations Officer

About the role

The Port Operations Officer will ensure smooth vessel turnaround at the Dammam port, handling all statutory formalities, documentation and coordination with internal and external parties. This role supports the shipping line’s commitment to high‑quality cargo transport and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Attend vessels at port and guarantee compliance with statutory formalities and declarations.
• Facilitate paperwork, customs, quarantine and immigration approvals for vessel arrival and departure.
• Obtain Port Authority approvals for special assistance such as engine immobilisation.
• Coordinate with the Stevedore Planning team to monitor cargo operations.
• Submit special cargo documents (Dangerous Goods, Reefer, OOG manifests) to the Operations team.
• Arrange delivery of ship stores and equipment with the ship chandler.
• Manage immigration and medical assistance for crew members when required.
• Organise customs approval for loading and discharging seals, ship spares and BL‑blank goods.
• Check reefer reports and coordinate technician visits for container repairs.
• Obtain completion certificates from stevedores and upload all required certificates and declarations to Fasah.
• Coordinate port clearance with the Harbor Master and submit clearance to vessel command and coast guard.
• Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports for the Operations Manager.

Required profile

• University degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 2‑5 years of relevant experience in the shipping line industry.
• Fluent English with strong attention to detail.
• Highly organized, able to work under pressure and multitask.
• Good interpersonal, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
