Principal Electrical Design Engineer – Lead Electrical Projects

About the role

Kellogg Brown & Root is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design of substations, transmission and distribution systems for large‑scale oil & gas and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. The role combines technical expertise with team leadership to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions from concept through detailed design.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of 10‑20 electrical engineers and designers.
• Develop discipline work plans and prepare accurate work‑hour estimates.
• Perform and review electrical system studies using tools such as ETAP.
• Size and specify electrical equipment and conduct power‑systems analyses.
• Ensure design integrity, on‑schedule delivery and budget compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to clients and present design solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore or infrastructure projects.
• Proven leadership of large engineering teams.
• Experience with Conceptual, FEED and detailed engineering phases.
