Procurement Engineer – Construction Materials

About the role

The Procurement Engineer will manage the acquisition of construction‑related materials, equipment and services, ensuring cost‑effectiveness, timely delivery and compliance with project specifications and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review technical specifications, BOQs and drawings to determine material requirements.
• Identify, evaluate and select suppliers and subcontractors based on price, quality, delivery time and compliance.
• Prepare RFQs, analyse quotations and negotiate commercial and technical terms.
• Issue accurate Purchase Orders and monitor delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and site teams to align deliveries with project timelines.
• Track and expedite orders, resolving delays, quality issues or documentation gaps.
• Maintain vendor records and all procurement‑related documentation.
• Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, project requirements and local/international regulations.
• Develop long‑term relationships with key vendors to secure value and reliability.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and support value‑engineering initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in construction or contracting companies.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, specifications and project cycles.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems such as SAP.
• Knowledge of local and international markets and vendors.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills.
