Procurement Engineer - Mechanical (Shutdown & Turnaround)

About the role

The Procurement Engineer - Mechanical (Shutdown & Turnaround) manages and coordinates all procurement of mechanical equipment and materials during shutdown and turnaround phases. The role ensures timely procurement, vendor management and compliance with company and Saudi Aramco standards, working closely with maintenance, engineering and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement plans for shutdown and turnaround activities.
• Source and qualify suppliers and vendors for mechanical equipment and materials.
• Prepare procurement documentation, including RFQs, purchase orders and contracts.
• Monitor procurement schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Coordinate with project and maintenance teams on material requirements and priorities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and Saudi Aramco procurement standards.
• Manage vendor relationships and resolve procurement issues.
• Support budgeting and cost control, and maintain accurate procurement records and reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of procurement experience in mechanical disciplines, specifically in shutdown and turnaround projects; Saudi experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management and contract administration.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco procurement standards and procedures preferred.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in procurement software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
