Production Operator – Manufacturing

About the role

The Production Operator ensures smooth and consistent manufacturing runs by preparing documentation, operating equipment, and maintaining quality standards. This role works closely with the team leader, quality control, and maintenance to minimise downtime and guarantee product compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Validate the availability of all required documents (JFT, PCC, drawings, etc.) before each job start‑up.
• Operate machines according to work instructions, ensuring safe and reliable run‑ability.
• Troubleshoot issues and request support when needed to minimise downtime.
• Check and sign winding samples, relay them for team‑leader approval and QC inspection.
• Regularly monitor product quality, provide samples to QC, and report any defects.
• Complete repair requests, coordinate with maintenance, and validate repairs.
• Assign tasks to helpers, maintain 5S standards, and keep the work area organized.
• Verify and sign product and pallet labels to ensure correct packing.
• Fill production reports, enter data into the ERP system, and submit reports for approval.
• Prepare process control cards for new orders and obtain necessary approvals.
• Label leftover material and manage its dispatch to the warehouse or mixing zones.
• Implement Good Manufacturing Practices on assigned machines and report discrepancies.

Required profile

• Ability to read and validate technical documents such as JFT, PCC and drawings.
• Experience operating manufacturing equipment following detailed work instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to coordinate with maintenance.
• Attention to quality, with experience handling samples and reporting defects.
• Organisational skills to assign tasks, maintain 5S standards and manage documentation.
