Production Operator – Packaging Line

About the role

The Production Operator works on a packaging line, operating and monitoring equipment to meet production targets while minimizing waste. The role ensures efficient line performance, maintains product quality, and supports safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor packaging machines (e.g., bag maker, Ishida) to achieve required efficiency and material targets.
• Conduct hourly process control checks, attend quality wall meetings, and report material usage, waste, and any quality or food‑safety issues.
• Maintain equipment hygiene, perform routine maintenance checklists, and ensure GMP compliance.
• Manage line workers’ break times, cleaning schedules, and shift handovers.
• Report workplace hazards and actively participate in the OH&S Management System.
• Support energy‑resource utilization (water, electricity, gas) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience operating packing machines.
• Industrial Training Institute (ITI) graduate or relevant diploma.
• Basic communication skills and a positive work attitude.
• Relevant tertiary qualification is a plus.

Required skills

• Packing machine operation (bag maker, Ishida).
• Routine equipment maintenance and checklist execution.
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) adherence.
• OH&S management and hazard reporting.
