Project Director - Highways and Bridges

About the role

The role demands strong experience in civil engineering and transportation projects, particularly roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels in urban environments. As Project Director you will lead a multidisciplinary team and oversee all project phases to ensure successful delivery within budget, schedule and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor project teams, providing guidance and motivation to ensure efficient execution.
• Oversee contractors and sub‑contractors, monitor on‑site construction operations and resolve technical, logistical and administrative issues.
• Develop and execute project plans aligned with client objectives, managing scope, goals and deliverables.
• Foster stakeholder relationships, including clients, contractors and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear communication throughout the lifecycle.
• Maintain rigorous quality and safety standards, manage budgets, resources and procurement, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports covering KPIs, delays, quality issues and overall program status.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Engineering Management or related field; chartered membership preferred.
• Professional certification such as PMP preferred.
• Over 20 years of total experience, including at least 12 years at director level, primarily as a consultant.
• Proven experience on road projects; candidates without clear road experience will not be considered.
• Advanced level of English and strong report‑writing abilities.
