Project Director - Large-Scale Building Construction

About the role

A leading engineering and construction company, recruited by Focal Search, is looking for an experienced Project Director in Riyadh to oversee large-scale building construction projects. The successful candidate manages the full project lifecycle, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, timeline and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and direct multiple building construction projects from initiation through completion.
• Develop and implement project execution strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Oversee budgeting, cost control, procurement, scheduling and resource allocation.
• Manage project teams including engineers, consultants, contractors and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, building codes and safety regulations.
• Monitor progress and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Manage client relationships and act as primary point of contact for stakeholders.
• Review and approve technical designs, construction methodologies and contract variations.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and report regularly to executive management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering preferred).
• Minimum 12+ years of experience in building construction.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership or project management role.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial, residential or mixed-use developments.
• Professional certification such as PMP, Chartered Engineer or equivalent is advantageous.
