Project Manager – 380 kV Substation, OHTL & UGC

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a 380 kV substation, overhead transmission line (OHTL) and underground cable (UGC) project in Saudi Arabia. The role covers the full project lifecycle—from planning and engineering to procurement, installation, testing and commissioning—while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement project execution strategies, schedules and budgets for 380 kV, OHTL and UGC works.
• Oversee planning, engineering, procurement, logistics, site installation, testing and commissioning activities.
• Manage integration of converter stations, substations, control & protection systems and transmission lines.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Serve as primary interface with client (SEC) and consultants, and manage subcontractors, suppliers and OEMs.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, technical submittals and method statements.
• Control project budget, cash flow and resource allocation; ensure timely invoicing and payments.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, coach site engineers and promote a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Power Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 12–18 years of experience in power transmission projects, including at least 5–8 years on 380 kV, OHTL or UGC projects.
• Proven track record of managing large EPC projects in the energy sector.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE and CIGRÉ standards and client‑specific standards (SEC).
• Strong communication and negotiation skills in English.
