Project Manager – Healthcare Information Systems (HIS)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end‑to‑end implementation of Hospital Information Systems (HIS) across a healthcare organization. You will coordinate clinical, business, and technical teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet regulatory and operational requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle HIS projects, including integrations with EMR, EHR, QMS, IVR, ERP, CRM, insurance, laboratory, radiology and other systems.
- Define scope, deliverables, objectives and success criteria in partnership with stakeholders.
- Create and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones and resource forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with project governance, PMO standards and delivery methodologies.
- Serve as primary liaison between business, clinical, vendor and technology teams.
- Manage communication and reporting to senior leadership and executive sponsors.
- Coordinate vendor contracts, SLAs and performance monitoring.
- Oversee system integration, interoperability (HL7, FHIR, API) and data migration.
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues and dependencies.
- Drive change‑management activities and ensure readiness for SIT, UAT, go‑live and post‑implementation support.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 7+ years of project management experience, including 5+ years managing HIS or healthcare IT projects.
- Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile preferred.
- Strong understanding of hospital workflows, billing, insurance, laboratory and radiology processes.
- Experience working in regulated healthcare environments.
Required skills
- Hands‑on experience with at least one HIS platform (e.g., Cerner, Epic, InterSystems, Oracle Health).
- Proficiency in HL7, FHIR and API integration standards.
- Data migration and system interoperability expertise.
- System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience.
- Go‑live planning, change management and operational readiness.
- Vendor and third‑party management.
- Project management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile).
