Project Manager, Metro – Mekkah

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to lead the end‑to‑end delivery of complex metro programmes in Mekkah. The role combines deep rail and transit expertise with rigorous governance and client‑facing leadership to ensure safe, on‑time, and high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own full lifecycle delivery of metro assets, from planning and feasibility through design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, trial operations and handover.
• Act as the primary interface with clients, transport authorities, utilities, city planners, designers, contractors, operators and independent checking engineers.
• Lead governance forums, approvals and executive reporting to drive timely decisions across civil, systems and operational stakeholders.
• Oversee multidisciplinary scopes covering civil works (tunnels, viaducts, stations, depots), rail systems (trackwork, power/traction, SCADA, signalling, CBTC preferred, telecoms), rolling‑stock interfaces, PSDs and OCS.
• Shape procurement strategies for multi‑package delivery, administer contracts, change control, claims and risk allocation.
• Implement comprehensive risk management, configuration control, change governance and enforce QA/QC and safety assessment processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale metro projects with full lifecycle responsibility.
• Strong expertise in rail and transit systems combined with rigorous governance and client‑facing leadership.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills across civil, systems and operational domains.
• Solid understanding of procurement, contract administration and risk/quality management in infrastructure projects.
