Project Manager - Poultry Construction Project

About the role

Aviagen is building a new poultry operation in Saudi Arabia, including farms, a hatchery, a feed mill, a laboratory and a decontamination facility, and has partnered with GPP, a specialist consulting firm, to deliver the construction. Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Manager acts as the Owner's Representative, safeguarding Aviagen's interests and coordinating the Project Director, site supervisors, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders through construction, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, monitor and complete projects in line with scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives
• Report regularly to the Project Director and Senior Project Management Team on performance, risks and mitigation plans
• Manage relationships with consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Act as the interface between engineering disciplines and site teams, and oversee site supervisors
• Monitor progress against schedules and implement corrective actions
• Manage budgets, forecasts, change orders and cost control
• Review and approve progress certificates, contractor claims, variation orders and payment applications
• Ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements and local regulations
• Identify and mitigate risks, chair project meetings and prepare regular status reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, construction management or major capital projects
• Proven experience with large-scale industrial, agricultural, infrastructure or manufacturing construction projects
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams, contractors and consultants
• Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage
• Preferred: poultry, agribusiness or industrial facility construction experience, and experience in KSA or the GCC

Required skills

• Construction methodologies, contract administration, project controls, budgeting, scheduling and risk management
• Microsoft Office, project management software, scheduling tools and reporting systems
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera P6 or MS Project is preferred
