Purchasing Officer – Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

About the role

The Purchasing Officer will manage daily procurement activities for direct and indirect materials, equipment, and peripherals required by the company. This role ensures that purchases follow the SCM procedure manual and that the right products are delivered on time and at competitive prices.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare local purchase orders by comparing quotations and verifying user recommendations.
• Clarify requirements with requesting departments and communicate them to suppliers.
• Arrange samples and catalogues from the local market to secure competitive pricing.
• Negotiate prices and terms with vendors, write purchase specifications, and issue purchase orders.
• Participate in the receiving process to confirm quality, quantity, and pricing of goods.
• Coordinate with the financial manager to maintain positive cash flow.
• Compile information, verify nomenclature, and check inventory levels before ordering.
• Maintain records of purchase orders, compute total costs, and handle late‑delivery issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of relevant purchasing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, or a related field.
• Driving license and willingness to work extended hours.
• Excellent oral and written English; Arabic is a plus.
