Purchasing Officer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

ABYAT, the leading retail destination in the Middle East, is looking for a Purchasing Officer to manage end‑to‑end procurement activities for its Riyadh operations. You will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating terms, and ensuring timely delivery of goods while supporting the company’s growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Receive purchase requisitions, verify approvals, and create purchase orders in SAP.
• Source and communicate with approved local and international suppliers to obtain competitive quotations.
• Prepare quotation comparison sheets, present recommendations, and negotiate pricing, delivery, and payment terms.
• Monitor PO status, supplier confirmations, and delivery schedules; coordinate freight forwarders for air and sea shipments.
• Manage logistics, shipment tracking, customs clearance, and SABER documentation.
• Support CAPEX and project‑related procurement, ensure accurate PO closure in SAP after goods receipt and invoice verification.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships to optimise cost, quality, and service.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 2–5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain operations.
• Strong negotiation and supplier‑management abilities.
• Experience with SAP (preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of logistics, freight forwarding and customs procedures.
