Purchasing Specialist – Oil & Gas Project

About the role

Subsea 7 is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support an oil & gas project in Saudi Arabia. The role is contract‑based (3‑6 months) and will report to the Project SCM Manager, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services according to technical, safety, budget, and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue RFQs using SAP Ariba and manage the bidder list.
• Conduct commercial, contractual, and technical evaluations of bids and recommend solutions.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best commercial terms.
• Obtain approvals for Supplier Commitment, Purchase Requisition, and Purchase Order in SAP.
• Organise vendor kick‑off meetings and expedite supplier documentation.
• Coordinate inspections, monitor progress, and issue minutes of meetings.
• Track delivery status, raise recovery plans for potential delays, and manage change orders.
• Ensure proper release notes, shipment documentation, and invoice verification.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement for oil & gas projects.
• Familiarity with SAP Ariba and SAP procurement modules.
• Ability to perform commercial and contractual analysis and negotiate with suppliers.
• Strong understanding of technical specifications, safety performance, budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
