QA/QC Civil Engineer

About the role

The QA/QC Civil Engineer will monitor civil construction activities, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs and quality requirements. The role involves conducting site inspections, managing non‑conformances, reviewing quality documents and coordinating corrective actions with the site team and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect all civil works (reinforcement, formwork, concrete, masonry, waterproofing, backfilling, finishing) against drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Raise and track Work Inspection Requests (WIR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR) and testing requirements with the consultant.
• Monitor concrete pouring activities, including pre‑pour checks, slump, temperature, sampling, curing and post‑pour inspection.
• Identify defects, issue NCRs/SORs and coordinate corrective actions until satisfactory closure.
• Review laboratory and third‑party test reports, ensuring compliance with ACI, ASTM and project specifications.
• Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports and test documentation.

Required profile

• Good knowledge of civil construction methods, reinforced concrete, formwork, waterproofing and related quality control procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret IFC/shop drawings, specifications, material submittals and method statements.
• Familiarity with ITPs, WIR/MIR, NCRs, SORs and quality documentation.
• Understanding of key quality risks such as congested reinforcement, large concrete pours and hot‑weather concreting.
