QA/QC Civil Engineer – Riyadh

About the role

The QA/QC Civil Engineer will monitor civil construction activities, ensuring they meet approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role involves site inspections, coordination with consultants and subcontractors, and follow‑up on corrective actions to close quality issues.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect all civil works for compliance with drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Conduct inspections of reinforcement, formwork, concrete, masonry, waterproofing, backfilling and finishing works.
• Raise and coordinate Work Inspection Requests (WIR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR) and testing requirements with the consultant.
• Review and verify implementation of approved Method Statements, checklists and Quality Control Plans.
• Supervise concrete pouring activities, including pre‑pour checks, delivery, slump, temperature, sampling, curing and post‑pour inspection.
• Control construction materials, verify compliance with approved submittals and technical requirements.
• Identify defects and non‑conformities, prepare NCRs/SORs and ensure satisfactory closure.
• Provide technical guidance to site engineers, supervisors and subcontractors on workmanship.
• Coordinate with site, technical, survey, laboratory and consultant teams to resolve quality issues.
• Review laboratory and third‑party test reports and ensure required testing is completed and compliant.
• Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports and test documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience in civil construction quality assurance/control.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, formwork, concrete testing and repair methods.
• Familiarity with waterproofing, masonry, plastering, tiling, screed, earthworks, backfilling and compaction.
• Ability to read and interpret IFC/shop drawings, specifications, material submittals and method statements.
• Good understanding of ITPs, WIR/MIR, NCRs, SORs, inspection checklists and quality documentation.
• Knowledge of ACI, ASTM and project‑specific specifications.
• Capability to identify concrete defects, perform root‑cause analysis and follow up corrective actions.
