Quality Control Engineer

About the role

The Quality Control Engineer will join Tuwaiq Casting & Forging’s QC Division to ensure that all casting and forging products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications. Reporting to the QC Manager, the role focuses on defect minimisation, production efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of castings and forgings according to engineering drawings and quality procedures.
• Drive the QC process across the casting shop, ensuring alignment with organisational expectations.
• Control non‑conforming products using the NCR procedure and manage internal NCRs.
• Prepare Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and product inspection plans for internal and external requirements.
• Perform inspections on raw materials, in‑process components, and finished products; record results and analyse quality data.
• Coordinate root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions to support continuous improvement.
• Maintain and improve quality management systems (ISO 9001, API Q1) and support customer/third‑party audits.
• Manage calibration, maintenance, and operation of inspection equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably casting or forging.
• Hands‑on experience with API Q1, API 20A and API 20B standards.
• Relevant certifications such as NDE (ASNT or ISO 9712 Level II) and QMS Internal Auditor.
• Strong analytical thinking, high attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with inspection tools: calipers, micrometers, coordinate‑measuring machine (CMM), ultrasonic testers.
• Familiarity with visual inspection and non‑destructive testing (NDE) methods.
• Understanding of metallurgical properties and heat‑treatment processes.
• Knowledge of ASTM, EN, API Q1, API 20A and API 20B standards.
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality management system.
