Receiving Clerk

About the role

The Receiving Clerk ensures that all goods, supplies, food, beverages and other materials delivered to the hotel are accurately received, inspected and recorded. Working closely with Purchasing, Stores and Finance, the role supports smooth operations and maintains high standards of quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Receive deliveries and verify quantities, descriptions, specifications and condition against approved purchase orders.
• Inspect goods for quality, damage, expiry dates and packaging, ensuring compliance with hotel standards.
• Prepare and process receiving reports, recording all items accurately in the system.
• Verify invoices, delivery notes and purchase orders for completeness and accuracy.
• Report shortages, damages, discrepancies or rejected items to relevant departments and suppliers.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Stores, Finance and operational teams to resolve delivery issues.
• Label, document and transfer received items to appropriate storage areas.
• Maintain accurate receiving records, file documentation for audit purposes and keep the receiving area clean and organized.

Required profile

• At least 1 month of experience in a receiving, inventory or logistics role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow hotel procedures and safety standards.
• Basic numeracy and ability to work with invoices and purchase orders.
• Good communication skills to interact with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
