Reservations Clerk

About the role

The Reservations Clerk processes all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone, fax, or mail, ensuring guests receive accurate information and appropriate room types.

Key responsibilities

• Identify guest reservation needs and determine suitable room type and rate.
• Verify room availability, explain guarantee, special rates, and cancellation policies.
• Enter and manage reservation data in the hotel reservation system, including special codes for complimentary rooms, employee discounts, and travel‑agent rates.
• Accommodate and document special guest requests and answer questions about property facilities and services.
• Follow sales techniques to maximize revenue and adhere to escalation procedures for guest concerns.
• Maintain professional telephone etiquette and uphold company policies, appearance standards, and confidentiality.
• Assist guests with disabilities and provide courteous, personalized service.
• Perform light physical tasks such as moving objects up to 10 pounds.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience or specific licenses needed.
• Ability to work full‑time in an onsite hotel environment.
