Resident Engineer – Landscape (Softscape & Hardscape)

House of Consulting Office for Consulting Engineers Co. (HCO) is a leading multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm in Saudi Arabia. We are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer – Landscape (Softscape & Hardscape) to supervise and coordinate landscape construction activities across large‑scale public realm projects.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day landscape construction covering both softscape and hardscape works, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, ITPs and quality standards.
• Inspect and approve plant materials, soil, irrigation systems, paving materials, samples and mock‑ups, including nursery inspections.
• Monitor soil preparation, planting, irrigation installation and testing, paving, drainage, retaining walls, water features and site finishes.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, design changes, WIRs, MIRs, NCRs and other technical documentation.
• Coordinate landscape works with civil, structural, architectural, MEP, lighting and utility disciplines.
• Provide technical input on plant selection, water efficiency, constructability and long‑term maintenance.
• Track contractor progress against the programme and support review of quantities, interim payments, variations, claims and extensions of time.
• Lead snagging, testing and commissioning, handover, as‑built reviews, O&M manual verification and defects liability activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Horticultural Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of landscape construction supervision experience, with at least 8 years in Saudi Arabia and 8 years in a consultancy environment.
• Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on large‑scale public realm, streetscape, park, resort, heritage or urban regeneration projects.
• Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is mandatory.
• Excellent command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
