Resident Engineer – Ras Al‑Khair

About the role

The Resident Engineer acts as the Client’s Representative with signatory authority, serving as the contractual point of contact between the Royal Commission and contractors. The role supervises multiple concurrent construction contracts, ensuring progress, quality, safety and compliance across residential, commercial and infrastructure projects in Ras Al‑Khair.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor construction progress against schedule and critical milestones.
• Guide contractors to adjust production rates, resources and activity durations as needed.
• Evaluate contractor schedules, baseline updates and time‑extension requests.
• Resolve design clarifications, site conditions and change notices.
• Ensure quality of work complies with contract specifications and the approved Quality Control program.
• Oversee safety compliance to achieve zero accidents.
• Manage technical submittals, long‑lead items and contract documentation.
• Administer monthly progress invoices, verify quantities and BOQ values.
• Lead weekly progress meetings, issue minutes and follow‑up actions.
• Provide regular reports and presentations to senior management and the Client.

Required profile

• University degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 10‑13 years (or 14‑17 years) of experience in building, road, bridge or site‑development projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost, scheduling and contractual management.
• Excellent oral and written English communication.
• Proven leadership and troubleshooting abilities in a multicultural environment.
