Risk Management Intern – Data Analysis & Reporting

About the role

The Islamic Development Bank is seeking a motivated undergraduate student to join its Risk Management team in Jeddah for a three‑month internship. The role offers hands‑on experience in analysing risk data, building dashboards and automating reporting processes within a professional banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support risk data analysis and reporting using advanced Excel features (PivotTables, Power Pivot, VBA/macros) and Power Query.
• Develop and maintain risk dashboards and visualisations in Microsoft Power BI.
• Automate data extraction and processing through SQL queries and version‑controlled scripts.
• Assist quantitative analysis using Python (NumPy, Pandas) and/or R.
• Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot to enhance analytical insights and streamline reporting.

Required profile

• Final‑year undergraduate student, preferably in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Strong command of English.
• Interest in risk management and data‑driven decision making.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, Conditional Formatting, Power Pivot, VBA/macros).
• SQL query writing and data extraction.
• Power Query (Excel/Power BI).
• Microsoft Power BI – data modelling, dashboards, visualisation.
• Python programming – NumPy, Pandas.
• R programming.
• Version control with Git/GitHub.
• Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot).
