Rolling Stock Technician

About the role

HITACHI RAIL ARABIA LIMITED is hiring a full-time Rolling Stock Technician in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The technician supports the Rolling Stock Team Leader with preventive and corrective maintenance, minor modifications and routine checks on passenger service vehicles, engineering support vehicles, shunting vehicles and locomotives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and minor modifications on rolling stock, including passenger service vehicles, engineering support vehicles, shunting vehicles and locomotives.
• Carry out routine vehicle inspections, check parts for surface defects, replace consumables, perform minor repairs and technical cleaning.
• Diagnose faults and replace components, repairing either on site or in the depot.
• Follow the Permit to Work process and LOTO procedures, and carry out shift and emergency duties as needed.
• Operate the under-floor wheel lathe for wheel turning.
• Manage a safe system of work, including strict adherence to maintenance schedules.
• Comply with health, safety, security and environmental requirements, and report incidents and accidents immediately.
• Integrate quality into all work and foster teamwork with clear handovers between shifts.

Required profile

• Diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Over three years of experience in the railway industry.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage several priorities.
• Experience with shunting and operating engineering vehicles or locomotives is an advantage.

Required skills

• Robust mechanical understanding of rolling stock's inner mechanisms.
• Preference for candidates with experience operating an under-floor wheel lathe.
