RTG Remote Controller – Operations

About the role

We are looking for an RTG Remote Controller to operate automated electric RTG cranes from the RCOS control room. The successful candidate will ensure safe, accurate and efficient container movements across the yard while supporting automation performance and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Operate AeRTGs from the RCOS to stack, retrieve and relocate containers in assigned yard blocks.
• Monitor multiple cranes simultaneously and intervene to correct exceptions or unsafe conditions.
• Verify container moves against TOS (ZODIAC) instructions and maintain accuracy.
• Coordinate with Yard Supervisor and Planning to optimise crane allocation and reduce congestion.
• Escalate automation errors, delays or breakdowns to Maintenance/IT support promptly.
• Enforce HSSE requirements by monitoring camera feeds and stopping operations when unsafe practices are detected.
• Maintain logs and performance records for productivity tracking and troubleshooting.
• Provide operational feedback to drive continuous improvement in automation efficiency.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, IT, Engineering or related field (preferred).
• 1‑2 years of experience in container terminal operations with exposure to automated equipment.
• Strong situational awareness and ability to multitask in a monitoring/control room environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
