Safety Officer – Oil & Gas Facilities

About the role

KBR is seeking a Safety Officer to conduct safety inspections of equipment, tools, and working conditions in oil & gas facilities, ensuring worker safety and compliance with SHE procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, tools, and working conditions, including safety belts, ladders, ropes, and rubber goods, and replace non‑compliant items.
• Observe crews and report safety lapses such as failure to use goggles, gloves, and other protective devices.
• Examine conditions of ditches and tunnels and recommend bracing to prevent cave‑ins.
• Investigate accidents to determine causes and develop preventive measures.
• Instruct workers in the use of safety equipment and safe work methods.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and encourage reporting of unsafe acts and conditions.
• Comply with all SHE procedures before and during work.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in oil & gas maintenance.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in oil & gas maintenance with a diploma.
• Strong technical understanding of maintenance jobs related to safety.
• Well‑organized, proactive with excellent communication skills.
• Proven leadership skills in large organizations.
• Ability to make sound judgments under pressure and resolve problems.
• Strategic management skills.
