Safety & Security Officer

About the role

The Safety & Security Officer is responsible for protecting people, property, and information by identifying potential security risks, enforcing safety policies, and working closely with local emergency services. This role serves as the first line of defense against accidents, unauthorized access, and security breaches, ensuring a safe and hazard‑free environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor surveillance systems, alarms, and access points to detect irregularities.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify hazards or security breaches.
• Enforce fire safety, personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance, and other company safety regulations.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, accidents, or threats and complete detailed incident reports.
• Provide basic safety training and emergency evacuation instructions to staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Safety Officer, Security Guard, or in a similar role.
• Valid security license or safety certifications such as OSHA or NEBOSH.
• Strong observational abilities and composure in high‑pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution skills.
