Senior Associate - Students Counselor

About the role

The Student Counselor will deliver confidential counseling and wellbeing support to postgraduate students at the KAPSARC School of Public Policy. The role focuses on personal, psychological and academic challenges, helping students progress toward timely degree completion.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and, when appropriate, group counseling to address academic stress, work‑life balance and personal issues.
• Conduct initial assessments, develop support plans and monitor student progress through key milestones such as coursework, exams and thesis work.
• Design and deliver preventive workshops on stress management, time management and research resilience.
• Identify at‑risk students, refer them to qualified internal or external specialists, and manage crisis situations following institutional protocols.
• Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and faculty while maintaining strict confidentiality and professional ethics.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of professional counseling experience, preferably in a university setting.
• Bachelor’s (minimum) and preferably a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology or related field; registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties or eligibility to obtain it.
• Experience working with postgraduate or adult learners and in multicultural environments.
