Senior Audit Professional – Mining Sector

About the role

Deloitte is seeking a Senior Audit professional to join its Mining sector team in Riyadh. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality audit services, building credibility with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk‑management requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Build trust with stakeholders by understanding their service expectations and individual concerns.
• Deliver high‑quality audit services with practical awareness of regulatory impact and risk management.
• Research key statistics and industry matters before engagements begin.
• Adapt template referral instructions to clearly define audit scope and focus areas.
• Understand and communicate the structure of group audits and intended audiences.
• Liaise effectively with onshore and offshore Centers of Excellence, providing accurate and complete information.
• Track deliverables from component auditors and assess their relevance.
• Link risks, controls, procedures and findings across the EMS file in a timely manner.
• Articulate audit quality milestones and demonstrate how they contribute to overall audit quality.
• Challenge audit plan timings and propose earlier execution where appropriate.
• Prepare documentation that anticipates reviewer questions and distinguishes accounting from auditing judgments.
• Develop relationships beyond the finance function to gain a broader understanding of the entity.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in audit, preferably within the mining sector.
• Strong understanding of regulatory environments and risk‑management frameworks.
• Proven ability to interpret audit scope and communicate it to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating with onshore and offshore teams.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to challenge audit timing and propose efficient solutions.
