Senior Automation Team Manager – Poultry Processing

About the role

Almarai is seeking a Senior Automation Team Manager to lead the automation function within its poultry processing plant in Al Shamli. The role combines hands‑on technical work with operational leadership to ensure high equipment efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement in a high‑volume food‑processing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and performance of automated processing lines (slaughtering, evisceration, chilling, packaging).
• Ensure optimal operation of PLC, SCADA, and control systems for uninterrupted production.
• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities to reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoot automation issues and coordinate with OEM suppliers.
• Monitor KPIs such as MTTR, MTBF, and equipment efficiency, driving improvement initiatives.
• Guarantee compliance with HACCP, GMP, and safety standards.
• Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new automated equipment.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to optimise plant performance.
• Develop and lead a team of technicians and supervisors, fostering high performance and safety.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Automation Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in food‑processing or poultry operations.
• Strong background with automation systems, PLCs, SCADA, sensors and industrial controls.
• Hands‑on experience with high‑speed processing lines and automated machinery.
• Knowledge of poultry processing equipment is highly preferred.
• Proven troubleshooting, analytical and preventive‑maintenance skills.
