Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Network International is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design and deliver high‑performance Java services that power its financial‑services platform. You will join a cross‑functional Agile team, collaborating with product, DevOps and QA experts to build scalable micro‑services and ensure robust, secure APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Architect and implement RESTful micro‑services with high availability and performance.
• Model, optimize and persist data in MongoDB and MySQL, including schema design and tuning.
• Implement authentication and authorization using Spring Security.
• Build data access layers with Spring Data JPA and MongoDB repositories.
• Develop caching strategies using Redis or similar technologies.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with DevOps and QA to maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers and enforce coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Java backend development.
• Proven experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security and micro‑services architecture.
• Hands‑on expertise with MongoDB and MySQL, including performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON and HTTP protocols.
• Experience with caching solutions such as Redis.
• Familiarity with Agile (Scrum or Kanban) methodologies.
• Proficiency with Git, Maven/Gradle and CI/CD tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication abilities.
