Senior Backend Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a global technology leader on a contract basis. The position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while building and maintaining high‑traffic backend systems that power critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services using modern languages and frameworks.
• Implement and maintain APIs, databases, and micro‑services architecture.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and system failures.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high‑quality deliverables.

Required profile

• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, or similar web service technologies.
• Strong understanding of database design, SQL, and NoSQL systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Ability to write unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
