Senior Bridge Engineer – Road & Highway Projects

About the role

The Senior Bridge Engineer will lead the design review, construction supervision and quality assurance of bridge and related structural works for major road and highway projects in Riyadh. The role demands deep technical expertise, strict adherence to international and Saudi standards, and proactive coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review and comment on bridge designs, shop drawings and construction documents, ensuring compliance with AASHTO, BS, Eurocodes and Saudi standards.
• Supervise construction activities for bridges, flyovers, interchanges, underpasses, retaining walls and culverts, monitoring methodology, sequencing and safety.
• Conduct site inspections, witness material testing, pile load tests, concrete works, post‑tensioning and structural installations.
• Coordinate with resident engineers, contractors, utility teams and client representatives to resolve technical issues and keep the project on schedule.
• Promote HSE compliance, identify construction risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Monitor progress against schedules, prepare weekly/monthly technical reports and highlight delays or risks.
• Support contract administration by reviewing variations, claims and RFIs, and assisting commercial teams with technical evaluations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in bridge engineering, construction methodologies and quality assurance.
• Proven ability to interpret and apply AASHTO, British Standards, Eurocodes and Saudi standards.
• Strong coordination skills with contractors, clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving capability to address design modifications, value‑engineering proposals and on‑site technical challenges.
