Senior Category Manager – Frozen & Importation

About the role

The Senior Category Manager – Frozen & Importation will lead the Fresh Food category, driving sales, margin and profitability for Panda Retail Company. You will develop and execute a customer‑focused strategy that balances financial performance with innovation and high‑quality in‑store experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies for frozen and imported fresh food to meet sales, margin and profitability targets.
• Analyse market trends, customer behaviour and competitor activity to identify growth and differentiation opportunities.
• Plan and manage assortment, pricing and promotions aligned with customer preferences and financial goals.
• Negotiate supplier agreements and trading terms to optimise cost, margin and additional income.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Space & Range and Marketing teams to ensure effective execution and product availability.
• Monitor category performance using sales and profitability reports and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead innovation and product development initiatives to introduce unique, high‑quality offerings.
• Build and maintain long‑term supplier relationships that deliver sustainable value.
• Coach and support category and merchandising team members to enhance category management capability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in FMCG environment, preferably in category management.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
