Senior Cost Control Engineer

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm operating in 100 countries, is looking for a Senior Cost Control Engineer to join one of its major projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role oversees cost management, design review and budget control for large-scale infrastructure and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project budgets aligned with project goals
• Carry out detailed cost analyses and provide regular cost performance reports to stakeholders
• Analyse, interpret and forecast cost performance against budgets
• Maintain the Program and Project Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and manage changes with version control
• Support risk assessments and help develop mitigation strategies to limit financial impacts
• Create and update financial models to forecast project costs and cash flows
• Work with cross-functional teams so deliverables stay within budget
• Implement and maintain cost control systems to track expenses and variances
• Advise project managers and senior leadership on cost matters and support business planning

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
• 10-15 years of experience in cost engineering and cost reporting/management, preferably on large-scale infrastructure or major construction projects
• Experience leading cost control teams and managing the cost function at departmental level
• Ability to support recruitment of cost control staff for the project team
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in cost management software, including Primavera systems and Excel
• Financial modelling, risk assessment and contract management
• Understanding of design review processes and their cost impact
• Familiarity with construction and engineering practices and local regulations and standards in Saudi Arabia
