Senior Cost Controller

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Cost Controller to oversee financial monitoring, cost management and performance reporting for energy‑efficiency, construction, infrastructure and sustainability projects across Saudi Arabia. The role works closely with project managers, procurement, finance and contractors to ensure projects stay within approved budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control project costs against approved budgets and cost plans.
• Analyse cost variances, provide explanations and recommendations.
• Prepare cost reports, budget forecasts, cash‑flow projections and performance analyses.
• Track commitments, expenditures, change orders, variations, claims and other financial impacts.
• Coordinate with project managers, procurement and finance to reconcile costs and ensure accurate reporting.
• Support preparation of cost estimates, budgets and financial proposals for new and ongoing projects.
• Maintain project cost databases, ensuring correct coding and allocation.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and advise on improving financial performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in cost control or project cost management (candidates with 10 + years are also welcome).
• Professional experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC preferred.
• Valid Saudi Council of Engineers registration where applicable.
• Strong analytical, numerical and financial reporting skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, financial modelling).
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6 for cost‑loaded schedules.
• Familiarity with Power BI or similar tools for cost reporting and dashboards.
• Knowledge of earned‑value management and cost performance analysis.
