Senior Design Manager

About the role

Mace is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead design excellence for a landmark programme of premium buildings and supporting infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. You will work within the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, coordinating multidisciplinary consultants and ensuring design outcomes meet programme objectives, budget, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design management process across multiple concurrent building and infrastructure packages.
• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design consultants from concept through construction.
• Ensure designs are fully coordinated, buildable, compliant, and aligned with project requirements.
• Review and challenge design proposals to optimise quality, functionality, schedule and value.
• Facilitate design workshops, technical reviews and stakeholder meetings.
• Monitor design progress against deliverables and programme milestones.
• Identify and manage design risks, issues and interfaces.
• Coordinate with project management, commercial, procurement, construction and client teams.
• Manage change control related to design development and scope amendments.
• Review consultant deliverables, technical submissions, specifications and design reports.
• Support procurement activities including technical evaluations of consultants and contractors.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to junior design management team members.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, governance requirements and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in architecture or a related discipline.
• Extensive design management experience (minimum 10 years) within PMC, consultancy, developer or client organisations.
• Proven track record delivering high‑end residential, hospitality, mixed‑use, estate or landmark developments.
