Senior Dockhand

About the role

The Senior Dockhand is a supervisory position within a 24/7 shift system, providing leadership for dockside operations, vessel berthing assistance, and marina safety. The role requires clear communication, problem‑solving, and the ability to work night shifts independently.

Key responsibilities

• Lead dockside assistance for guest movements, assign visitor berthing, and ensure vessels are securely moored.
• Oversee routine checks, cleaning, repair, and maintenance of pontoons, workboats, and marina facilities.
• Manage inventory of cleaning chemicals, drive club cars for passenger and luggage duties, and operate the marina workboat for berthing and emergency procedures.
• Supervise the dockhand team during vessel movements, line handling, and rescue operations.
• Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and incident reports using marina management systems.
• Champion health, safety, and environmental policies, reporting any variances to management.

Required profile

• Secondary education with preferably Middle East (KSA) experience.
• Physical ability to work outdoors, lift up to 23 kg, swim 50 m, and hold first‑aid and basic fire‑fighting training.
• Previous experience in a marina, yachting, or watersports environment and familiarity with marina equipment.

Required skills

• UHF/VHF communication proficiency with yachting terminology.
• Basic maintenance skills for marina infrastructure.
• Licensed operation of marina workboats and related vessels.
