Senior Environmental Manager (Island & Marine)

About the role

Mace is seeking a senior, site‑based Environmental Manager to lead environmental management for a large‑scale island and marine development in Saudi Arabia. The role provides environmental leadership throughout construction, ensuring compliance with local regulations, project requirements and international best‑practice standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage the project’s environmental strategy, management plans and compliance requirements.
• Provide environmental oversight across marine, coastal, island, infrastructure and construction activities.
• Monitor contractor performance, review and approve environmental management plans, method statements and monitoring programmes.
• Manage risks associated with marine ecosystems, coastal habitats, dredging, reclamation and near‑shore construction.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits and site assessments to ensure compliance.
• Investigate incidents, non‑conformances and complaints, and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate monitoring programmes for water quality, sediment control, ecology and biodiversity.
• Liaise with authorities, regulatory agencies and project stakeholders on permitting and reporting.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing environmental risks in marine, coastal, dredging, reclamation and island projects.
• Hands‑on professional able to work closely with contractors, consultants and regulatory bodies.
• Strong leadership skills to guide site teams and ensure compliance.
• Proven ability to develop and implement environmental management plans and monitoring programmes.
