Senior Fire & Life Safety Engineer

About the role

The Senior Fire & Life Safety Engineer will lead the fire and life safety design effort for the JEDCO mixed‑use development in Jeddah. Reporting to the project leadership, the role ensures that all safety solutions meet local and international codes while supporting multidisciplinary coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fire and life safety design from concept through construction documentation.
• Verify compliance with the Saudi Building Code, Civil Defense requirements, NFPA standards and other applicable regulations.
• Serve as the primary interface with clients, authorities, and project stakeholders on safety matters.
• Coordinate fire safety requirements with architectural, MEP, structural and infrastructure teams.
• Review, approve and sign‑off fire safety strategies, reports and design deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project engineers and designers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• 20+ years of experience in fire and life safety engineering, preferably on large‑scale projects in Saudi Arabia.
• Demonstrated experience working with Saudi Civil Defense and local authorities.
• Proven track record of delivering complex mixed‑use or urban developments.

Required skills

• Fire & Life Safety design expertise.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC).
• Proficiency with NFPA standards.
• Familiarity with Civil Defense regulations and international fire codes.
