Senior High Voltage Engineer – Riyadh Projects

About the role

Surbana Jurong is seeking experienced Senior High Voltage Engineers to lead the design and delivery of high‑voltage power systems for upcoming energy and infrastructure projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role provides technical leadership across transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and major infrastructure initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of HV and EHV substations, including AIS and GIS solutions.
• Prepare and review substation layouts, single‑line diagrams, protection schemes, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, utilities, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Conduct protection studies, equipment selection, and design reviews.
• Support procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and technical assurance activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8‑12 years of experience in high‑voltage power engineering.
• Strong experience with AIS/GIS substations and protection design.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, utility standards and grid code requirements.
• Experience on transmission, distribution, renewable energy, or major infrastructure projects.
• Excellent technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous experience on projects in the Middle East or Saudi Arabia is highly desirable.
