Senior Instrument Technician

About the role

KBR is looking for a Senior Instrument Technician in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia, to keep instrument assets reliable and available so that process units can stay in operation. The role leads, supervises and coordinates the maintenance team for instrument systems, equipment and facilities, acting as the focal point for the daily maintenance execution plan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and coordinate the maintenance technician team, focusing on compliance with the preventive maintenance plan and efficient breakdown maintenance of instruments, equipment and facilities.
• Execute monthly and weekly maintenance plans, follow up on progress and submit regular progress reports to the instrument foreman with recommendations.
• Provide onsite maintenance and repairs on instruments such as generators, transformers and motors, in line with standards, specifications, safety procedures, manufacturer recommendations and contract terms.
• Visit the site frequently to check that work is properly executed and that technicians engaged in routine maintenance are active.
• Keep records of daily maintenance work against planned programmes, prepare work completion reports and assist in recommending engineering modifications to improve instrument serviceability.
• Maintain a proactive safety attitude and behaviour.

Required profile

• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in oil and gas maintenance, with a diploma or bachelor's degree.
• Proven leadership skills in large organisations, maturity of judgment under pressure and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to achieve business results in a multi-cultural environment and flexibility to travel internationally and live in KSA.
• Good command of spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of maintaining and repairing instrument systems, and of instrument equipment design, installation and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems.
• Strong knowledge of standards, procedures and regulations for health, safety and environmental protection.
• Technical understanding of oil and gas facility maintenance management.
