Senior Internal Auditor – Financial Audit & Assurance

About the role

We are seeking a senior auditor to join HALA’s Internal Audit team and perform risk‑based financial, accounting, and finance‑related audits across the organization. The role involves planning and executing audits covering financial reporting, accounting processes, financial controls, treasury, revenue assurance, reconciliations, financial instruments, and other finance‑related activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform audit planning, risk assessments, scoping, and develop audit programs.
• Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of financial controls and provide recommendations.
• Assess accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records, transactions, and statements.
• Review compliance with IFRS, SOCPA, SAMA and other applicable regulations.
• Audit key finance processes such as financial close, journal entries, revenue recognition, and reconciliations.
• Examine treasury operations, cash management, liquidity, and related controls.
• Evaluate controls over merchant settlements, refunds, chargebacks, and commissions.
• Conduct interviews and walkthroughs with Finance, Treasury, Operations, Risk, and Compliance stakeholders.
• Prepare evidence‑based audit reports and present findings to senior management and the Audit Committee.
• Monitor implementation of corrective actions and provide assurance on remediation effectiveness.

Required profile

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 4‑6 years of experience in audit & assurance, preferably in a financial services or FinTech environment.
• Strong understanding of auditing principles, internal controls, risk management frameworks and financial reporting.
• Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
