Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer – Inverter

About the role

Lucid is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead the development, launch, and sustainment of automated test systems for electric traction inverter production lines. The role focuses on in‑process and end‑of‑line testing of high‑voltage inverters to ensure performance, safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve inverter test specifications and change requests, acting as the manufacturing test authority.
• Analyze test sequences, limits, cycle time, process flow, and failure‑mode handling for inverter EOL and sub‑assembly stations.
• Design and own test system hardware, including cabinet layout, HV/LV routing, connectorization, shielding, grounding, and thermal management.
• Develop modular test applications with operator interfaces, parameter management, fault messaging, and data logging.
• Implement databases to manage test parameters, results, traceability, and integration with manufacturing and quality systems.
• Define DUT handling, fixturing, and automated HV connections with safety interlocks.
• Collaborate with controls engineers to integrate test applications with PLCs, dynos, cooling systems, and material handling equipment.
• Lead sourcing, RFQs, supplier selection, build tracking, and technical oversight for external test equipment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in manufacturing test engineering for high‑voltage power electronics.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with design, controls, quality, production, and external suppliers.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for electrical, thermal, and safety‑critical failure modes.
