Senior Mechanical Application Engineer (HVAC, Dehumidification & Heating Systems)

About the role

HI-BEST is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Application Engineer to join its technical team in Riyadh. The role focuses on engineering calculations, equipment selection, technical submissions, and application support for commercial and industrial dehumidification, solar water‑heating and heat‑pump systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform psychrometric, moisture‑load, cooling/heating‑load, airflow and hydraulic calculations.
• Select and size dehumidifiers, solar water‑heating and heat‑pump systems for various applications.
• Review project specifications, mechanical drawings, tender documents, equipment schedules and BOQs.
• Prepare technical submittals, compliance statements, equipment schedules, selection reports and calculation sheets.
• Develop mechanical layouts, schematic drawings and installation concepts; review AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM and MEP coordination drawings.
• Coordinate with consultants, MEP contractors, clients, suppliers and manufacturers; participate in technical meetings and respond to consultant comments.
• Provide value‑engineering alternatives and technical support to sales and project teams; support installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and performance evaluation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical application engineering, HVAC design, technical presales or equipment selection.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, psychrometrics, humidity control, ventilation, sensible and latent loads, airflow and duct‑system fundamentals.
• Proven ability to independently perform engineering calculations and select suitable equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
