Senior MEP Engineer (HVAC)

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior MEP Engineer to lead the design, coordination and delivery of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, with a focus on HVAC, for large-scale public-venue projects such as stadiums. The role involves developing policies, standards and inspection procedures for judicial-branch facilities and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of MEP systems, guaranteeing compliance with industry standards, codes and client requirements.
• Manage MEP aspects from concept through completion, including budgeting, scheduling and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Review, validate and approve HVAC designs, load calculations, equipment selections and technical submissions.
• Provide technical guidance, resolve complex engineering challenges and ensure quality through reviews, inspections and testing.
• Mentor a team of MEP engineers and designers, fostering professional growth.
• Collaborate with contractors, vendors and suppliers to procure equipment and materials in line with specifications.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Serve as primary client contact for MEP matters, delivering expertise throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Professional registration (MMUP Engineer Registration – UPDA) preferred.
• 10+ years of MEP engineering experience with construction oversight.
• Experience on stadium or large public-venue projects strongly preferred.
• Prior experience in Project Management Consulting (PMC) roles is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and MEP modeling software.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC design, load calculations and equipment selection.
• Familiarity with building codes and standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA and NFPA.
• ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.
