Senior Network Expert - Internet Gateway

About the role

As a senior member of the network engineering team, you will lead the technical strategy and operations of the Internet Gateway (IGW) infrastructure, ensuring high‑availability and performance for a Tier‑1 service provider.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for IGW infrastructure, embedding ITIL best practices.
• Lead day‑to‑day network operations, meeting SLAs, KPIs and customer expectations.
• Continuously improve processes, SOPs and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Coach and mentor team members, translating complex technical requirements into business solutions.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to provide performance insights, optimise P&L and drive customer satisfaction.
• Analyse and resolve high‑severity, cross‑domain incidents affecting the IGW.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, IT or related field.
• 10–15 years of hands‑on experience in Tier‑1/Tier‑2 service provider IGW environments.
• Extensive experience with Juniper MX/PTX and Cisco ASR/NCS platforms.
• Strong knowledge of BNG/BRAS platforms (Juniper, Cisco, Nokia) and AAA, policy control, session management.
• Expert‑level proficiency in BGP and traffic engineering at internet scale.
• Professional‑level ITIL certification (e.g., ITIL Intermediate).
• Preferred: Master’s degree, CCIE‑SP, JNCIE‑SP, CISSP or cloud‑specific certifications.
