Senior Operations & Maintenance Operator – Power Plant

About the role

The Senior Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Operator will run and monitor a hybrid power generation facility that includes photovoltaic (PV) arrays, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and internal combustion engine (ICE) generators. The role ensures safe, efficient operation, performs routine checks, basic maintenance and troubleshooting to deliver stable power output.

Key responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, fire equipment procedures and instructions from the Shift Supervisor/Engineer.
• Monitor plant parameters, record readings, and summarize shift activities in log books.
• Inspect equipment and auxiliaries, report abnormalities, and ensure parameters stay within limits.
• Execute equipment changeovers according to schedule and raise work requests for faults.
• Assist with isolation and re‑commissioning of systems before and after maintenance.
• Perform low and medium voltage electrical switching.
• Maintain a tidy work area, clean up after maintenance, and use proper PPE.
• Report quality, health, safety deviations, emergencies, near‑misses and waste disposal issues.
• Support training of new operators and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of experience operating desalination or power plant facilities.
• Experience in the Middle East is preferred.
• Awareness of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems.
• Ability to work in a remote location and follow standard operating procedures.
